Christchurch
Today we stopped in Lyttelton Port with a 30 minute shuttle ride to Christchurch. We got to go through a 1.9 kilometer long tunnel to get there. It made the John Wayne Tunnel in Snoqualmie look small, but this one was much busier. One of the first things we did was go kayaking on the Avon. The weather was perfect- warm, sunny and beautiful.
One of the woodducks that shared the river with us.
We passed through their bridge of rememberance to honor those lost in the world wars. It is one of the few things that survived the great earthquake of 2011 that leveled most of Christchurch central area.
Last of all, we got on one of the hop on/hop off trolleys to see the downtown area. We could have walked it and seen more, but we were tired. And you see why I don't qualify as Filipino. I can't take a selfie.
